Campus crime update: threats, thieves and a false alarm

Here’s a brief update on campus crimes that occurred between May 11 and May 18.

Creative Threats

Officers responded to a call of a man threatening to shoot another man near the Creative Arts Building at a campus event May 14. Police stood by to keep the peace. No arrests were made.

Thief in the Night

A vehicle was broken into  in the parking garage between 6 p.m., May 11, and 9:30 a.m., May 12. The total loss was estimated at $680.

Fire in the Hole

Officers responded to a fire alarm that was activated on May 12. Upon inspection, they learned that a malfunctioning transformer in the basement electric room of Centennial Village was giving off smoke that set off the alarm.
