An accident near SF State, involving a bicycle and a car, left one student injured Monday at about 1 p.m.

A blue Toyota Prius driven by Jesse Vicario, 22, a pre-nursing student, was pulling into a parking spot on Arballo Drive when he abruptly stopped, causing 19-year-old journalism major Rosie Linares to fly into the back windshield.

“I like flew forward and hit the rear window and did a flip,” said Linares, who was treated at the scene for cuts to her face and wrists. She was transported to the hospital by her boyfriend, CCSF student Luca McGrath, 18.

“They both weren’t looking,” said Dorian Schraner, a witness who was visiting a friend in Parkmerced and heard the accident.

No one was in the car with Vicario during the accident. It is not clear if any criminal charges have been filed.
